Sue Jacobsen (front row, 3rd from right) was the first woman to earn an undergraduate degree from Bowdoin, and the first woman to deliver a Commencement speaking part. Robert Johnson (front row, 2nd from right) was the first president of the Afro-American Society at Bowdoin.
