Chamberlain Tiffany Bracelet, 1865
Image View Description: Bracelet, designed by Joshua Chamberlain and made by Tiffany & Co., which Chamberlain presented to his wife Fanny to commemorate their tenth wedding anniversary. The diamond and gold bracelet features an enamel Maltese Cross -- the symbol of Chamberlain's V Corps -- as well as twenty-four gold hourglasses, each engraved with the name of an engagement Chamberlain participated in during the Civil War.

Image View Description: This photograph was made at the exact moment the forward magazine of the destroyer USS Shaw exploded during the Japansese attack. The ship was in drydock at the time. This photograph is part of a series of photographs from the U.S. Senate investigation of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, 7 Dec. 1941.

Baxter, Percival Proctor (1876-1969).
Image View Description: Portrait of former Governor Percival P. Baxter of Maine (right) and his sister Madeline, the late Mrs. Fenton Tomlinson, painted when he was 6 yrs old and she was 4. The painting, titled "Babes in the Woods", was done by Eastman Johnson n 1881. The work, a family heirloom of Governor Baxter, has been given by him to the Museum of Art at Bowdoin college, his alma mater.
