The dry dock was flooded in an attempt to smother the fires, but this only worsened conditions, as oil from a ruptured fuel tank spread out across the water. This photograph is part of a series of photographs from the U.S. Senate investigation of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, 7 Dec. 1941.
